Dynamic Duo Celebrate New York Success
Dynamic duo Kay Leigh and Jill Higgs are celebrating after crossing the finishing line in one of the world's toughest road races - the New York Marathon.
The girls donned their Dynamic vests and running shoes in the Big Apple to compete in the race which draws world-class professional athletes. And, hot on the heels of medal winner Paula Radcliffe, the girls finally crossed the finishing line in four hours and 29 minutes.
The New York Marathon pushed Kay and Jill's strength and endurance to the limit as they ran through some of the city's famous boroughs including Staten Island, Bay Ridge and Fifth Avenue before they reached the elusive finish line in Central Park.
"It was one of the toughest things we've ever done," said Kay. "But that's nothing compared to the battles that cancer sufferers undergo every day. We'd like to thank all our sponsors including Dynamic, for helping us to raise so much money for such a good cause."
The girls, who have both lost friends and relatives to cancer, raised over £8,500 for Yorkshire Cancer Research. The charity funds research into the cause and cure of cancer in Yorkshire, which in turn benefits sufferers the world over.
